Video over IP Applications - Linear IPTV
What is Linear-TV?
Linear-TV is the tradional way of receiving TeleVision and Radio content 'over Air' (Terrestrial), Cable (CATV) or Satellite (SMATV).
All of these are finally transmitted via single copper - cables: COAX. - Today it is still RF-Transmission but the content is digital
The Television consumer is watching what's actual offered: Linear -in time- from the source.
Linear IPTV is the method avoiding to distribute the RF TV signals by COAX but using existing Ethernet's (or even WiFi) based on Internet Protocols.
Example about a HE design for a customer based on 2 different options and features:

- Reception of 40 Free to Air (FTA) SAT-Transponder and
- minimum 6 SAT Transponder with PayTV Content decryption by CI-Modules (CAM)
- 12 Full HD HDMI Sources to be encoded and streamed as IPTV Multicasts in UDP
2x IGS-900 = 16x2 SAT Transponders FTA + 2x IGS-700-8 with each 4 FTA Tuner + Tuner with 4 CI-Slots =
32+8 FTA=40 + 8 CI for decryption. Additional the EMU-8612 for encoding-streaming of 12 HD-HDMI Inputs
Resulting in a cost effective & compact system:
This can be used for LinearIPTV w/o a Middleware-server + stand-alone IPTV STB's

3x Luminato 4H Chassis with 40 Transponders by 5x QUAD Receiver Modules
+ max. 10 Dual/Quad with 10x2 CI and 10x2 FTA Transponder receivers, plus a different Encoder-Streamer condsidered as boxed version: HDE-265 for injecting a Hotel Information Stream
